Staff was awful, breakfast was disgusting, poor lighting in the stairwells. No backup generators during Hurricane Irma which we were repeatedly told by the manager of the hotel that we did not have to worry, the hotel had backup generators. He lied!

We apologize that our generator could not possibly power the entire hotel, but with what we could power, we were able to offer breakfast the morning after the storm. For as inconvenient as power outages during these storms are, we are glad to have recovered power by noon that next day so we could start getting everything back to business as usual.

Lost power and had no backup generator with about 100 dogs and 200 senior citizens during hurricane Irma. No backup generator -no emergency lights in hallways or stairs after a couple hours. No access back inside as the doors were all electronic. many room ceilings leaked when it rained. Totally unprepared for an emergency.

We're very glad that everyone that stayed with us made it through that terrible storm, and we also hope that everyone we couldn't have a room for found a safe place for shelter. As Floridians, we know that hurricanes are a fact of life, and while everyone does their best to prepare, a storm of Hurricane Irma's size can change how things go. And afterwards, we'll always take a look at what went right and where we could have done better, what worked exactly as it should and what didn't. Our generator did the job it needed to, allowing us to continue to have food to serve for guests who might not otherwise have a meal, and we certainly are against the idea of anyone going outside in such horrible weather.
