Very good value for the price. The staff is friendly. Check in and check out is fast and efficient. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good amenities, but I didn't have a chance to try them out. The breakfast is great.

When I arrived to my room it smelled of mildew. A couple I met in the elevator noted they were assigned the same room and refused to stay in it. So Carlson new about the problem and did not correct it when they could have. The other item is the horrific internet connection. I was there six nights and could not maintain a wifi connection for one hour straight without the hotel disconnecting me. On some occasions I had to restart my laptop to get a re-connection. It was the worst wifi I have seen in 3+ years. My laptop is my life on the road, I ended up on two occasions at a coffee chain store and had a better connection than the hotel could provide. The remaining amenities of the hotel; small bar, hot tub, fitness center were very good. The morning breakfast was excellent. The last item I have not worked out yet was the bill, our company has a rate lock with various chain hotels throughout the country, this hotel charged a different rate each day I was there. It WILL make itemizing my bill a nightmare. I would not choose this location in the future and would not recommend it if you expect good wifi service.

Thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback with us. When looking over your review, it is apparent that we could have done more to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and I am very disappointed to hear of your experience and would like to apologize for the inconvenience experienced. When looking in our maintenance/guest request log, I unfortunately do not see any guest request/maintenance request for your guest room in the past 30 days, which means our team failed to communicate the issued when notified by the previous guest. I will be addressing this with my entire Front Office staff, as it is essential that we communicate in between departments to ensure issues such as this will be addressed prior to a new guest occupying the guest room. As for the dynamic pricing (rate is different each day) while we do have many negotiated corporate company rates that are at a fixed rate, our general hotel rates are dynamic and based on occupancy, with the average rate per night being quoted at the time of booking. This is common throughout the hotel industry for non-negotiated rates (Companies will negotiate flat rates throughout the year), as it allows for a more sell through on lower occupancy dates by providing a lower rate during low occupancy dates, while the rate will increase over high occupancy dates. For example, if the hotel was at 50% on a Thursday and 90% on Friday, if the rate was a flat rate, it may be at $150 for each night, which may price many people out from reserving a room on Thursday, with little pick up on Friday. Meanwhile, with dynamic, the rate on Thursday may go down as low as $100, with Friday increasing to $200 due to demand, helping to drive occupancy over the Thursday with a price that more accurately reflects demand. I hope I have been helpful in explaining the process behind dynamic pricing. Once again, I would like to express our deepest apologies for the issues you encountered during your stay with us and I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to show you that this is not a typical experience at our hotel.

Average hotel with good breakfast. Room smelled musty. As I am allergic to dogs and cats and this appears to be a pet friendly hotel I had some issues with odors and the windows do not open for airing out purposes. Also, I don't like air freshener sprays. Location is fairly good to get to various parks and the beach.
