Things to Do near Middleton
With so much available in downtown Madison, how can you choose from the Chazen Museum of Art, the Madison Children’s Museum and a Badgers game at the University of Wisconsin? Just visit all of them, and don’t miss these other favorites while in town:
Henry Vilas Zoo – Drive about seven miles into downtown Madison and visit the zoo. You and your kids can see animals representing five different continents, including black swans from Australia and lions from Africa. The train and carousel are also must-dos.
Hitters SportsPlex – Follow Deming Way for about a mile to reach this 50,000-square-foot facility, one of the largest recreational centers in the state of Wisconsin. The ultramodern facilities include USTA Quickstart courts, batting cages and a child care center.
Pheasant Branch Conservancy – After a day of meetings in downtown Madison, drive a couple of miles from the hotel to the north side of Middleton. You’ll be greeted by 550 acres of open water, prairies, springs, meadows and woods, where you can bike and hike through a natural paradise. Although the conservancy is surrounded by urban development, bird-watchers and nature lovers find this to be a peaceful area to observe local wildlife.
