    “Good for Families”

Clean and pretty-well organized. The staff are friendly, the room was set up well so we could have a divided living/sleeping space. Breakfast was good (though I wish it was open longer). And the pool was clean and good for small kids. The thing that holds this place back from being excellent were all the little problems in the rooms. Small towels (counter-acted by asking for more towels), dodgy shower curtain (wasn't big enough for the rod), older TVs (which were plagued by static unless you smacked them), and the fridge was pretty weak (just a tall mini-fridge but it wasn't very cold despite being cranked to maximum coldness). Still, for the price, it was a solid place to take your family, especially if you have small kids so you can put them down for bed in one room while you hang out in the other.

    “Seems to be declining”

We have stayed at this location for several years. The parking lot is terrible for anything larger than a minivan and completely impossible for a truck and trailer. There is a parking lot next door that must belong to a church that we normally use, although if you haven't been there before you may get stuck in the hotel parking lot and have to drive over the curb to get out like several people we saw towing trailers like we were. The hotel seems to be trying to update. There is new paint and the bathrooms look different. Our shower curtain rod was not installed properly (just screwed into the sheetrock) so it hung down and the curtain would not stay closed. The carpet was stained and needed cleaning. The pool was a nice temperature although the placement of the handicap lift blocks the pool almost completely from the hot tub so I was constantly straining my neck to try and see my kids. The breakfast was nearly inedible. There was cereal with the kids ended up eating. the waffles I guess were ok, but there was only sugar free syrup. The only cream cheese put out was strawberry flavored and the only bagels were cinnamon raisin. Not a good matchup. The sausage tasted like old grease and the eggs were not appetizing. We bought pop-tarts for our kids the second morning. There is a lending library in the lobby and I made use of it since I forgot to bring a book to read to my kids at bedtime. The check in process was smooth and efficient. The location was nice, but there is only a tiny sign by the drive where you have to turn. Overall, these are minor issues compared to some, but being a long time customer here, we were greatly disappointed this year.

Jennifer, I appreciate you taking the time to post your review on your most recent stay and encourage you to come back to check out our new and improved look. We are currently undergoing a renovation on our hotel. We are in the process of updating the guest room bathrooms, with new carpeting and furniture being done over the winter. Our Country Inn & Suites, Chambersburg is getting a much needed update and we are excited about our new lobby/breakfast area too! Our breakfast has a rotating menu of HOT items daily and I do apologize your dislike of the sausage served on the day you were visiting. In addition, we offer both Sugar Free and regular syrup for our Waffles and French Toast. Plus, we try to put out a variety of bagels with different flavors of cream cheese as well. Our yogurt parfaits are a big hit too. Our hotel is located next to a church and Cluggy's Amusement ~ so our parking lot can be tight when there is a Car Show in the area, which I believe was going on during your visit. Our lot isn't set up for Cars or Trucks with trailers, commercial vehicles or tractor trailers. With the addition of various restaurants and shopping adjacent to the hotel in the future, the lay out of the lot may be changed to add another entrance/exit. We hope that you'll visit again and see our new Country look after renovations are finalized. Thank you for staying with us and I look forward to meeting you upon your next visit. Respectfully, Lisa C General Manager
