Pioneer Day, celebrated annually on July 24th, commemorates the arrival of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. You can stay near the festivities by booking a hotel room at the Country Inn & Suites. Additionally, Bountiful hosts their own Handcart Days celebration. Please note: Pioneer Day is an official state holiday, so many government offices and businesses may be closed.
During the celebration, you can watch parades, see a rodeo, eat delicious food, listen to a concert or catch a fireworks show. Pioneer Day is a special day for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), so you may be able to see a re-enactment of the migration on the Mormon Trail. Book your hotel room today and start planning your weekend celebration!
Visit the Days of 47 website for details about Pioneer Days and the Handcart Days website for a list of events.
