    This hotel has been newly remodeled from floors to fixtures and furnishings. Our room looked like it was brand new and never stayed in before. My daughter commented, "I feel comfortable walking barefoot in our room!" The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

    Reservations were messed up and upon arrival, the 3 rooms I reserved only 2 were available. That should have told me something as things went down hill from there. Couldn't get into one of the rooms as it wasn't ready, but check in is at 3:00 PM. On Saturday night we told the front desk that the phone did not work and was told they would have someone check it the next day. When we left on Tuesday morning the phone was not working. We reported it each day and was told the same thing, they would have someone check on it. On Monday morning we were in the room with the do not disturb sign on the door. It was 9:30 am. I noticed a card was put under the door. The card stated since we had the do not disturb sign on, they would not be cleaning our room that day, but if we wanted new towels to notify the front desk.There would be no service after 1PM. Since we didn't have phone service as we left for the day (at 9:45 am) I ask that our room be cleaned and fresh towels. Was told it would be done. Also told them about the phone. My husband returned at 4:00 PM on Monday and the room hadn't been touched. Still no phone. He notified the front desk, again. We returned to the hotel about 8. Towels had been replaced and the bed made, but not cleaned and no shampoo etc. No phone so I had to go to the front desk and again report all that was wrongOn Tuesday when we were leaving, my husband went to get a cart to help with our stuff. One cart was being used by another guest. The other cart was being used by one of the staff members to move some of their stuff. Shouldn't guest have it first. They should have their own cart. Making the original reservations it stated the hotel was undergoing renovations. Our room was is terrible shape especially the bathroom. Not sure who was doing the renovations, but it was not a professional job. Paint had been spilled on the floor and it was wiped up, but not cleaned up. There were other items that were not done professionally.

    toilet wasn't even bolted down in bathroom... bed was concave. Room had a terrible smell. Tons of construction in the hotel and the surrounding area. I would stay closer to downtown Charlotte next time.
