This was a doomed stay almost from the get go. We traveled to Knoxville from out of state with 3 kids for a family Thanksgiving. We get checked in which was great. Then got to our room which had a closet that was about 20 inches wide, probably due to the fact that they gave us the smallest room in the hotel for 5 people on a reservation that was made 2 months ago. We noticed a couple of bugs which were dead around the window. In the morning, there were more bugs around the window. Having an infant who needed to be laid on the floor (on blankets, but still), we called to ask them to please vacuum while we were out. Get back that evening and not only did they not vacuum the whole area around the window, they didn't even make the beds and give us fresh linens or towels. The night manager did come and vacuum the bugs and bring towels. The following 2 DAYS they did not clean the room or bring fresh linens and towels. Our safe in the room also did not work. The internet was out for the first 2 days of our stay. When it came back on, it was like using dialup. We switched to our personal wifi on our phones for the rest of the time. The staff was hit and miss on their helpfulness and friendliness. The hot tub water looked brownish yellow, and just uninviting as well. The pool looked very clean though.

It’s really sad for me to give this place 2 stars. I have spent many MONTHS in this hotel and since the summer of 2018, this property has gone straight downhill. Apparently the owners thought to swap employees from another property, to this one, would be a good thing and from a guest who has spent many months here over a couple of years can tell you, it was not. The housekeeping now sucks! ( multiple times of nobody cleaning room /making bed/replenishing towels). The front desk service has gone downhill. One woman that works there on the overnight shift does an exceptional job and is an asset to that establishment. Sarah is also a wonderful face to see at the front desk and always happy and willing to help in any way she can. Another fella that works overnights sometimes is another story. I hope that this establishment works things out and gets some better service to their guests. The breakfast and the breakfast staff is amazing and the longevity of my time there, was one of the best things of my stay. Hopefully they get a better toaster, but that is minor in the totality of my stay. I hope that the Country Inn at Cedar Bluff gets some better staff at that property and realizes that sending the good staff that was there to another property was not appealing to many extended stay guests like myself. Hope things are worked out by next summer or I will have find another property to reside at.
