“Good spot, but room for improvement”

This is a great spot, but there were enough little things to make me look elsewhere next time. No in room refrigerator is a big downside in the South, especially when it is 90 degrees outside and the ice machines were running on empty. The parking lot is in major need of a rehab. The deb linens are overdue to be replaced. The wi-fi barely worked. The pool was great and the staff was super friendly.

I decided to do a family vacation with my two daughters and four grandkids- ages 2, 5, 11, and 12. Including my husband, it was eight of us. This was the perfect place for all of them because there was something for everyone and they really had a great time. We visited Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Colonial Williamsburg. We made great memories.

    “dirty room”

dirty room-- cobwebs between curtain and window and carpet came away from the wall in one area with degrading plaster behind-- possibly from rodents, insects, or some other infestation. Night attendant at check in was a bit rude, but general manager was nice and let us out of the second night of our reservation because of a family emergency.

    “Excellent Location”

Excellent location! Busch Gardens and Water Country USA is only 3 miles away. Downtown Williamsburg and William & Mary College 4 miles away. We went with 10 family members and had a total of 4 rooms. The rooms were OK and the bathrooms need work but not terrible. You can tell this is an old hotel but not dirty. The kids liked the pool. Complimentary breakfast was pretty good with a nice variety. The downside is only one elevator so had to wait a long time during the morning and evening but if you are able, the hotel only has 4 floors so you could always take the stairs. I was told they are starting renovations in the fall. I am usually very picky when it comes to hotels and I would stay again.
