VALDOSTA. This 34-acre park is a natural spot in town for a relaxing walk, casual picnic or outdoor activity. The park features basketball courts and a children's playground as well as nature trails for biking and hiking. A pavilion area is a popular spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. There is also an amphitheater. The park is located on River Street.

VALDOSTA. If one thing personifies the town of Valdosta, it is the lovely azalea, which has given the burg the nickname "The Azalea City." This route, which leads folks past lovely Drexel Park and some of the most carefully-cultivated beds in the city, was named in honor of former parks superintendent R.J. Drexel, who first introduced the flowering shrub to the city. A pretty drive no matter the time of year, the trail has particular appeal from March through May, when azaleas are in full bloom.
