Held in April at Shell Point, the Annual Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta is named for a local sailor who died from a rare form of cancer at the age of 29. The regatta draws over 200 participants and quite a crowd of spectators. Some of the more popular events include sailboard races and the ever-popular and humorous "silly boat race." As well as watching the regatta there are also demos with canoes, kayaks and sailing lessons.
