MILAN. This three-story brick structure, home to Edison from infancy to age seven, was renovated, refurbished, and opened as a museum in 1947, the centennial of the great inventor's birth. It houses a wealth of family memorabilia, area history, and even models of some of Edison's innovations. The prolific creator held 1093 US patents and is best known for having invented the light bulb and the phonograph. The museum offers a great glimpse of the life and times in which Edison was nurtured and raised.
