The Colon Free Trade Zone is located at the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal, opposite of Panama City. It's the largest free trade zone in the Americas and second-largest in the world. The "CFZ" is home to more than 1,750 merchants and is a boon to shoppers. Since goods traveling in and out of the zone are tax-exempt, merchants are able to offer rock-bottom prices on a variety of merchandise, including jewelry, perfumes, electronics, and clothing.
