HILLSBOROUGH STREET. Constructed in 1760, this grand home was once part of a 1000-acre plantation owned by the "Father of Raleigh," Joel Lane. Now lovingly maintained by volunteers, the home and its beautiful period gardens are open for the public to enjoy on Wednesday through Saturday. The house may also be rented for receptions, social events, or meetings.
