Clean hotel, friendly staff. The room was recently updated and clean. Big TV. Biggest issue was all vending machines were broken or empty. Had to drive to the gas station at 1am to get a drink. Also breakfast was hohum. "hot food" was stale and rubbery. Waffle machine was broken. Big disappointment on the food.

This Country Inn (and many other Country Inns as well) offer a unique two-room suite arrangement where the living area and the sleeping area are separated by a door that closes. This is a marvelous, practical, and highly underappreciated feature. At most hotels, even top-of-the-line brands, you are subjected to an ongoing barrage of Crash-Bang-Boom as hallway doors slam throughout the late night and early morning hours when you are trying to sleep. But by having the sleeping area in a separate room away from the hallway, your odds of being able to experience a good nights' sleep are much more favorable at Country Inn and Suites. The front desk clerk is simply outstanding. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The housekeeping crew make a genuine effort to fulfill your requests. I really would like to rate this hotel as Excellent, but there are a few maintenance items that need to be addressed. First, the window glass had a fairly sizeable crack with jagged pieces that were held loosely in place and could eventually fall out. The window was jammed into an open position and would not move up or down, thus admitting road noise from nearby Highway 8. This desperately needs to be fixed before a guest injures themselves. Another deferred maintenance item is a brown stain on the ceiling above the wet bar area. (We were in Room 315). This roof leak needs to be repaired before it gets worse and does more damage. Finally, the cloth baseboard moldings are coming loose and need to be reglued or reattached. This would be a truly outstanding property if these deferred maintenance items were properly addressed.

I used to enjoy my stay. This time, not so much. The breakfast in the morning was more than "continental" in the past. Sausage, bacon, eggs, waffles...yum. This time: no eggs, no bacon, dried up weird sausage-like substance, over-seasoned dried up potatoes. Yuck. Their front desk people make you feel welcome every time though. Wonderful people. But that breakfast made me ill.
