Located in Madison County, this picture perfect postcard town of roughly 60,000 residents is booming. Situated next to the Forked Deer River, Jackson is the home of the annual Casey Jones Train Fest, and the West Tennessee State Fair. Area attractions include the Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum, the Britton Lane Battlefield, and the Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Area. Jackson started out as an industrial town, but it by the mid-19th century it had become a hub for railroad activity. Although the area is growing and giving way to sprawl, Jackson still remains down to earth and its residents enjoy outdoor recreational pursuits at Chickasaw State Park and Natchez State Resort Park. Cypress Grove Nature Park features a boardwalk that weaves in and out of 165-acres of cypress trees, as well as an observation deck where visitors can spot red tailed hawks, green heron, owls, and eagles.

This Southwestern Tennessee town is named after Andrew Jackson, who trekked down the western side of what is now Natchez State Resort Park with his troops in 1814.
