Winter Activites in the Stockton/Galena Area Located Near Stockton Country inn & suites

• Snowmobiling
  Plenty of trails in the area (see Maps at desk). Trail ends at our back door. Plenty of trailer space too.
• Skiing
  Chestnut Mountain is a short drive from our door. They'll be making snow shortly ( has to be 40 degrees to hold the snow). Flying to Vail is expensive; try Chestnut overlooking the Mississippi River - beautiful.
• Hiking
  Apple Canyon State Park is a favorite. It's one of the oldest parks in the state. Watch out for snakes!
• Museum/Historic
  Visit picturesque Galena and all of it's historic wonders. It's your heritage - enjoy. Visit General Grant's home. The Galena Museum on Bench St. is a wealth of interest. Find fine food anywhere in Galena.
