Directions to the Country Inn & Suites from O'Hare:

294 south to 88 west; exit at Naperville Road; turn right at the traffic light onto Naperville Blvd. Turn right onto Diehl Road. Turn right onto Centre Point Circle. Hotel on right side. Distance: 33 miles.

Directions to the Country Inn & Suites from Midway:

Left on Cicero Avenue and follow signs to I-55 South. I-55 South to I-355 North to I-88 West. Exit Naperville Road; turn right. Take a right on Diehl. Follow Diehl one mile to Centre Point Circle. Distance: 26 miles.

With a winter temperature peaking at 23 degrees and summer temps rarely topping 74 degrees, St. Charles' colorful charm places it on the Chicago Tribune's Top 10 list. This quaint city's downtown area offers an array of restaurants, live entertainment, and shopping. Located in Kane County (and only 35 miles from the Windy City), St. Charles is bisected by the Fox River. Visitors can enjoy a walk or bicycle ride along the Fox River Trail (Kane County offers roughly 120-miles of bike trails), experience a river ride on the Fox River Queen or the St. Charles Belle, or visit the Garfield Farm Museum to see 1840's era "living history." Additional attractions include the Dunham Hunt Museum and Saint Charles Heritage Museum, as well as Ferson Creek Park and LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve. The city is a popular stop for antiquing, and is also home to the "world's largest flea market" the Kane County Flea Market.

St. Charles showcases "Living History Month" annually, scheduled on three consecutive weekends in August. Visiting spectators can see both Revolutionary and Civil War battle reenactments with active participants dressed in full regalia.
