This all started on Wednesday (8/26) night when I called the hotel to follow up on the Romance Package I had booked and to make sure that we had the bottle of Sparkling Cider in our room and also to find out what I needed to do to get the Gift Certificate to Cracker Barrel for two meals. Jay answered the phone and told me he would leave a note for the manager about the bottle of Sparkling Cider, so that it would be in the room when we arrived. Jay also told me that he did not know anything about the Gift Certificate, but would leave a note for the manager to e-mail the information since I was trying to surprise my wife with a nice romantic week end. On Friday morning (8/28) I was checking my bank balance and saw a pending charge for $294.84 from the hotel. When I got to the Hotel to check-in I asked the manager why someone would have already run my card when I had not even checked-in yet. The answer I got was sorry and that she had no idea why Jay would have done such a thing. She also informed me that she was out of the Gift Certificates but would take $25.00 off my bill and that she had run out of the Sparkling Cider and had not had time to go to the store and get more. She only had wine, which I told her we did not want. There was no justifiable reason for my credit card to be run a day early, running out of the Gift Certificates and having no sparkling cider on hand with the only excuse “I am sorry”. We do not have credit cards; we use our debit cards for everything. This mistake forced to use an account I was not planning on using. When we got to the room and turned down the bed there was a tear in the sheets and if that is not bad enough the maid never changed the sheets the next day. We had asked for clean sheets. I took a picture of it and will send it if you like. My wife and I have talked about this experience at your hotel and believe we are due a full refund. The advertisement that was described on the web site for a Romantic Package get way weekend did not live up to its billing. If you would like to speak my wife or me our names are Tim and Tracy Stephenson and we can be reached at 423-600-0214.

Excellent, new, clean hotel conveniently located. Nice price at $80 a night. Nice staff and felt very safe at this hotel due to a lot of lighting in the parking lot and the location in Birmingham. Near a lot of great restaurants and only 5 minutes from downtown. Near Samford University and a great running/walking trail down the street. Easy access off I-65.

Our trip to Alabama was to take our daughter to college. We had a very nice stay. The check in was fast and easy. It was located in an area close to the college, food and shopping. Check out was easy. I love staying at these hotels when I travel.
