Since its inception in 1925, the annual Alsatia Mummer's Parade has become one of the most anticipated and amusing events in Hagerstown. The Mummer's parade also lays claim as being one of the (if not the) largest nighttime parade on the East Coast. An average of 10,000 participants come together each year on floats, in bands, or decked out in costumes to entertain nearly 175,000 people. Children's entertainment, vendors, food and music also play a large part in this family-friendly fall parade.
