GASLIGHT VILLAGE. Verdant Meijer Gardens, one of Grand Rapids' truest treasures, is a 125-acre botanical paradise that includes Michigan's largest conservatory, a boardwalk network overlooking wetlands, sculpture galleries, and an indoor Victorian Garden. Without question, the prize of the 100-plus piece sculpture collection is Leonardo da Vinci's "The Horse," which towers nearly three stories. The Taste of the Gardens Café offers a delightful lunch menu of sandwiches, salads, and soups and vaunts a terrific view of the surrounding gardens and wetlands; in addition, the café hosts a popular brunch every second Sunday of each month. Tram tours are available Mon-Sat every hour from 11am-2pm and every hour from 12:30pm-3:30pm on Sundays. $3 / adult, $1 / child.
