A city-wide celebration of good wine, good food and good friends. Kicking off the weekend is the Grand Tasting and Wine Auction, which has grown to be the one of the largest indoor wine tasting events in the state of Illinois. Tour of Galena

The weekend features three races: A time trial and a road race on Saturday and a downtown criterium on Sunday. Riders can choose to do one or all of the events, but the big prize money will be for those who do all three stages and earn points toward the omnium title. Hunter Fuerste and His American Vintage Orchestra

The nationally recognized, 14-piece Hunter Fuerste Orchestra will transport you to another time with their authentic re-creations of the hits from the big band era from 1935 to 1945. Director, Hunter Fuerste, painstakingly scored the music for his entire orchestra by listening to vintage recordings on 78 rpm records. You'll hear the hits of Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Count Basie and many others. Admission: Donations appreciated.
Independence Day Parade, Celebration and Fireworks Downtown Galena

Live music on Green St. Plaza will be from 2-9 p.m. There will also be the annual community parade with floats, bands, marchers and fireworks. Prizes will be awarded for best float. Line up starts at 5 p.m., for the parade beginning at 6 p.m. After the parade, enjoy live entertainment and food at the Green St. plaza until the fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

This is an annual German celebration featuring live music, kids games, wiener dog races and lots of food and beverages. Enjoy a bean bag tournament, raffle drawings with great prizes, polka dancing and lessons, beer stein endurance contest and the ceremonial tapping of the keg.
