Each year, George Washington's childhood home, Ferry Farm, hosts the holiday Gingerbread House Competition and Exhibition. Whether you want to bring the family or just enjoy a day outdoors, this event is well worth your time. Many of the delicious-smelling gingerbread houses take months to create and are decorated with ornate items that go along with the year's theme. The exhibit is open every day from 10 to 4.

This honorary event is free to the public and lasts from 8 pm until the luminaries burn out, with a bugler playing "Taps" every thirty minutes in honor of the lost soldiers.
