Housed in the historic town hall and market house, the Fredericksburg Area Museum pays homage to over 10,000 years of the area's history. The mission of the museum is to "collect, interpret and present the history and culture of this region," an undertaking in which they excel. The museum has gathered its collection of over 3,000 artifacts, which include a Clovis point from 8,000 BC and a Fredericksburg currency note from 1861, from donations from residents of the town.
