The oldest running rodeo in the country (first held in 1896), this exhibition has more than a century of entertainment under its belt. A downtown parade on the first Saturday morning kicks off the festivities, and there's also an animal petting zoo and a midway with carnival rides and games for all ages. Along with rodeo events, you can see livestock of all sorts, including cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, and rabbits competing for ribbons, and an exhibition hall is set up for vendors. This concert series capitalizes on the talents of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and its guest artists. The event begins in June and runs till the Fourth of July weekend. A spectacular fireworks show ends the series each year. Performances are held outdoors on the lawn of the Botanic Garden and feature a variety of musical styles, including blues and classical. Attendees may pay for table seating or bring a blanket for a lesser fee. Gates open at 6:30pm and the concert begins at 8pm.
