Free and open to the public, Celebrate Erie is a four-day festival that showcases the art, food, merchants and music of this lakeside city. Local artists and artisans display their handiwork while area merchants set up shops in booths that run the length of State Street for eight blocks. DJs and live bands keep things upbeat, and area restaurants manage to keep hungry festival goers well-fed. Fireworks are part of the Saturday evening festivities. Parking is free, but be advised that many downtown streets are partially closed.
