Indianapolis is the state capital of Indiana and the seat of Marion County. The city of Indianapolis has a population of 799,000, making it the 14th-largest city in the US, and the metropolitan area has a population of 1,715,459. The new Indianapolis International Airport (IND) opened November 12, 2008, after more than 30 years of planning and three years of construction. It features two concourses with 40 terminals to handle domestic and international flights. IND offers over 18,000 parking spaces, with fees ranging from $9 to $20 per day.
