    “5th Stay at Country Inns and Suites”

    This marks the 5th time we have stayed in the Country Inns and Suites- Port Canaveral. We use this hotel before we take our Disney Cruise. I had the park and cruise package as I have done for the previous 4 years After completing my online reservation, I had a scheduled time to be at the terminal by Disney ( which was 10:30am). I called the hotel on the day of my arrival to remind them I needed the 10:30am shuttle; this was the procedure they had always had me use before. Typically when I call, they ask for the scheduled port arrival time that Disney has given me ,and then place me on the 10:30 shuttle. By doing this, we have always been able to board the ship early by 11:30am . We can get lunch on the ship and wait for our room to open. It works out well every time. This time, however, when I phoned the hotel, I was not asked that question , I was simply informed by the young lady that I could not be taken to the cruise terminal before 12:00 noon. I explained that I had been assigned an early arrival time and had the paperwork from Disney to show this time was confirmed. The lady on the phone told me that the ship did not leave until 4:30pm, so it would not matter when I arrive. Additionally, she said the times were spread out so everyone would not come to the terminal at once. I told her if I wanted to board the ship around 1pm, then I would have scheduled a later arrival time when I preregistered with Disney. Fortunately when I arrived, a young man working the desk told me to see the driver( Duane) before 9am the next morning and he may be able to help. The next morning around 8:30, I went to Duane and he told me if I was there by 9:00 then he could take my family . Quickly we ate some breakfast and made it down with our luggage in time. Because of his willingness, we were able to make it to the terminal and be able to board at our scheduled time. I do enjoy this hotel, but this little glitch was aggravating. I know that there are other nice hotels in the area and I am now tempted to try one of them. However, we do like the room size and the breakfast is usually good. Also, Duane has always been a big help and is a good asset to the hotel. I do advice that they make sure those with early arrival times are transported to the ships terminal first.
