This hotel was complete with a spacious room, good price, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and professional. My kids enjoyed the pool and water slide. I don't know what else to say to fill the two hundred charter minimum this review requires. I feel you have the main positive points of this review.

    “Wrist Band Mania”
    Reviewed

I was told we would need wrist bands to be in the pool. I was then asked to leave the pool area while I was watching my children swim as I did not have a wrist band. This was not a problem. I went up to my room and got one. My problem started as they seemed spotty on their checks as more than half of the people in the swimming area did not have one on and they were not confronted. This would have been fine with me. I will follow rules if others are not, its the right thing to do. The next day we went to the Dakota Zoo and Children's Science Museum. We had taken off our wristbands from the night before and left them on the desk in the room. When I got back to the motel with my family I went to the desk to get replacement wrist bands. They gal at the front desk was belligerent and asked me if I did not know the policy. I stated that I did know the policy, but this was my second day at the motel and the cleaning personnel had taken my original wrist bands. She said she could not give me new wrist bands and would have to call a Stuart or someone. I was becoming furious and was in disbelief at her tone towards me insinuating I was ignorant. There was a cleaning person at the front desk at the time and I am sure we shared the same shock in our face at the statements made by the front desk person. She relented and scolded me for not having my wrist bands from the previous day. I took the new wrist bands and assured her I would leave a nasty note for the cleaning people for taking such valuable items. (I did not write a note.) Now have fresh wrist bands we enjoyed the pool area again. Because of my frustration I was diligent in looking at the majority of people in the pool area without wrist bands. On the next morning still having our wrist bands we went the pool again where almost no one except my family had wrist bands. There was even a wrist bandless party of kids on tubes in the shallow pool preventing use by other guests due to their numbers and size of the tubes. I keep my disappointment to myself. The motel needs to better post their requirements for the pool area, enforce their rules, and not treat their guests like idiots at the front desk when they have a valid concern.

Recently in Bismarck for a family wedding. Country Inns and Suites was neat, clean, up-to-date, reasonably priced. Excellent access to main roads. There were many things such as a nice pool which I would have made use of with our little children if time allowed.
