Grove Park Inn Gingerbread Competition The National Gingerbread Competition at Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa attracts competitors from around the country who create confectionary and architectural wonders.
When you are in Asheville, be sure to stop by the Visitors Center to see a gingerbread house that placed among the top in the competition, which is currently on display. You can also see several entries on display at the historic Grove Arcade shopping market. Or, see the National Gingerbread House display at the The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in December, Mondays through Thursdays for the public or weekends for hotel guests.
Bele Chere Bele Chere is an annual music and arts street festival held in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. The festival has been held annually on the last weekend in July since the late 1970's.
It is the largest free festival in the Southeast, attracting over 350,000 people. The festival consists of six stages scattered on various street corners in Asheville. A designated area called Arts Park typically features several dozen regional artists and their work. Displayed art covers a variety of media types including painting, photography, pottery and jewelry. A variety of music genres are represented at the festival, including Country, Blues, Folk, Mountain, Rock and Jazz with both local and nationally (United States) known musicians represented.
