    “Nice, not exceptional”

The hotel staff was extremely friendly & courteous. Our few requests were promptly addressed with a friendly smile. Any time we passed through the lobby we were greeted. The rooms were well appointed but nothing remarkable. Plenty of towels & toiletries. Nice long vanity so plenty of room for grooming by 2 people. Our room had a small fridge, microwave, & nice 32"HDTV. It was nice, just not an exceptional facility & for the price, average I guess. We got a senior discount & it was still $100/night for 2 queen beds (no king avail). The location, as far as conveniences, was good but the situs was lousy, sitting sideways on the lot so all windows overlooked commercial parking lots although the rear had a vegetative buffer & trees. Ingles grocery is next door. The parking lot is small, spaces very tight. This one is located in a heavy commercial area. Lots of shopping, dining, & other attractions close by. It was quiet. No traffic or other noise. HVAC worked good & was quiet.. The beds were so hard we woke with aches & pains. It seemed the second day our bath was replenished w/ towels & toiletries but not really cleaned. My hair on floor, some small debris under vanity that was there when we arrived, still there. Some splatters in sink from coffee I poured out. The beds just covers pulled up, no sheets smoothed. (BTW - I clear away all personal items so maids have clear area to work. I put in dresser or closet, off floor, vanity, furniture). The desk chair was OK but the other was a small, armless, hard, straight backed chair squeezed in the corner. Wi-Fi worked good, easy access, not a secured network. Breakfast was above average with several hot items like eggs or omelets, sausage, gravy, biscuits, old fashioned cooked oatmeal, not instant. Three juices, 3 coffee choices - reg., bold, & decaf, skim & 2% milk & all the usual waffles, pastries, cold cereals, breads, & bagels. In addition to fresh apples, oranges, & bananas, there was a tropical fruit cocktail too. The breakfast attendant was friendly, courteous, always cleaning tables & replenishing food items. No covered entrance (no porte cochere) for unloading or loading luggage & it rained our entire visit so we got wet. A median in front of property requires U-turns but not a big deal. At this time the Outlet Mall across the road is closed for renovation. Opening soon. This hotel is undergoing a facelift so there is construction on site but no noise, just mess, entire façade covered in tarps, unsightly but doesn't affect comfort. Interior appears to have been recently updated or redecorated.

Relaxing weekend stay with a whirlpool to relax in after a long day of exploring. The hotel was a short drive from downtown and a short drive to the Biltmore, but away from the busy areas. They also always had delicious cookies available!

Thank you Bethany for choosing to stay at our hotel. We're glad that you found everything to be close to wherever you wanted to go. It is very nice to relax in the Jacuzzi after a long day of fun, I'm glad you got the suite to do that. Many of our guest comment about how we are just close enough to everything but yet not in the hustle and bustle of downtown. We are also pleased to know you enjoyed the cookies, apples teas, and coffee that is offered 24/7. Please come back again.
