Opened to friends on Christmas Eve 1895, this French Renaissance chateáu remains America's largest privately owned home. A self-guided visit of Biltmore House is included in estate admission. Antler Hill Village: Discover the new village that connects the estate's present and past, providing a relaxing place for dining, shopping, historical exhibits, and new ways to experience Biltmore's hospitality. Antler Hill Village encompasses the Winery and Farm. Its name comes from Antler Hill, the "fine high ridge" where the Inn on Biltmore Estate is located. From the Civil War into the 1930s, the ridge was the site of Antler Hall, a residence and social center for many estate families.
